Two-Way Dual Language at Wooten Elementary

Wooten Dual Language students will develop a high academic and linguistic proficiency in two languages by participating in a rigorous academic program that enhances the development of bilingualism, biculturalism, and biliteracy so that students will graduate ready for college, career, and life in a globally competitive economy.

The goals of the program are:

  • Students will participate in a rigorous academic program.
  • Students will develop a high academic proficiency in two languages.
  • Students will develop a high linguistic proficiency in two languages.
  • Students will develop positive cross-cultural attitudes.

Spanish Two-Way Dual Language at Wooten Elementary

We are proud to host Austin ISD’s exceptional Spanish Two-way Dual Language program from PK4-5th grade.

AISD’s Dual Language program is open to students who are interested in a multilingual academic experience when entering Pre-Kindergarten until the first ten days of first grade.

The three goals of Austin ISD's dual language program are for students to:

  • Excel academically in two languages
  • Become bilingual and biliterate
  • Develop positive cross-cultural competency

Two-Way Dual Language Mandarin at Wooten Elementary

We are home to Austin ISD’s only PK-4 Mandarin program. 

We opened as a Two-Way Dual Language Mandarin Chinese program in the Fall of 2018 at Reilly Elementary (prior to consolidation of Reilly and Wooten Elementary). 
We have Two-Way Dual Language Mandarin from Pre-K4 through 5th Grade.


AISD’s Dual language program is open to all AISD students who are interested in a multilingual academic experience when entering Pre-Kindergarten until the first ten days of first grade.
