Mission & Vision

Mission

At Wooten Elementary, we put kids first. Through equity, belonging, and high-quality instruction, we give every child what they need to succeed, feel valued, and achieve at high levels. We prepare students with the knowledge, confidence, and support to thrive in school and in life.

Vision

Wooten Elementary will be a joyful, inclusive, and academically excellent community where every child is known, challenged, supported, and inspired. We will provide an exceptional education that prepares students to thrive in life while creating a magical childhood filled with wonder, belonging, and unforgettable memories.

Core Beliefs

Kids First

Children are at the center of every decision we make. We commit to doing what is best for students and creating the conditions in which every child can learn, grow, belong, and thrive.

Equity

Our students may not all begin in the same place, but we believe every child can grow, achieve at high levels, and go far. We maintain high expectations for every student and intentionally scaffold support so that each child can progress beyond what they may have imagined possible. At Wooten, reaching one’s fullest potential means the sky is the limit. By the time students complete their elementary journey with us, we want them to be flying high—prepared, confident, and empowered to go above and beyond. It is not about where a child starts; it is about how far they grow and how strongly they finish.

Belonging

Every student, family member, and staff member deserves to feel seen, known, valued, respected, and connected. We create a safe, joyful, and inclusive community where everyone knows: I belong here. I matter here. I am capable of great things.

High-Quality Instruction

Every student deserves rigorous, engaging, culturally responsive, and meaningful learning experiences. We believe excellent teaching, high expectations, responsive support, and opportunities for exploration and enrichment prepare students to thrive in school and in life.

Multilingualism and Multiculturalism

Language and culture are gifts. We honor students’ home languages, identities, traditions, and experiences and create opportunities for students to learn with and from one another in a diverse and interconnected community.

Whole-Child Development

We nurture students academically, socially, and emotionally. We help children develop confidence, empathy, resilience, curiosity, creativity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build healthy relationships.

Safe, Joyful, and Magical Childhood

Elementary school should be both a strong academic foundation and a magical, unforgettable chapter of childhood. We create opportunities for friendship, exploration, creativity, laughter, meaningful traditions, joyful learning, and memories students will carry with them for a lifetime.

Community and Collaboration

Families are essential partners in their children’s education. We value open communication, shared responsibility, and authentic collaboration among students, families, staff, and community partners.

Empowerment and Advocacy

We empower students to recognize their strengths, use their voices, think critically, and advocate for themselves and others. We prepare them to become compassionate, informed, and responsible members of their communities.

Growth and Continuous Improvement

We believe schools become stronger through listening, reflection, collaboration, and action. As the Wooten and Reilly communities continue to grow together, our mission, vision, traditions, and practices will continue to deepen and evolve.
