Arrival
Start the Day the Wooten Way!
At Wooten, we believe a peaceful morning sets the stage for a successful day. We want every child to begin the day feeling calm, connected, and ready to learn—not rushed or stressed.
While we understand that life happens and students may occasionally arrive late, our goal is to create a morning routine that allows every child to ease into the school day with confidence and joy.
Breakfast at the Howl & Chow Café
Our Howl & Chow Café is open for from 7:00–7:30 a.m. for students who would like to enjoy a traditional cafeteria breakfast.
Students arriving during this time have the opportunity to:
- Enjoy a relaxed breakfast
- Visit with friends
- Build relationships
- Start the day in a welcoming environment
- Transition to class without feeling rushed
We encourage families to arrive between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. This gives students plenty of time to enjoy breakfast and begin the day peacefully.
Morning Schedule
7:00–7:30 a.m.
Traditional breakfast is served in the Howl & Chow Café.
7:30 a.m.
Cafeteria clean-up begins, and students finish breakfast and prepare to transition to class. Traditional breakfast transitions to grab-and-go breakfast.
7:35 a.m.
Campus-wide transition to classrooms begins.
7:40 a.m.
The official instructional day begins. Our goal is for every student to be settled, connected, and ready to learn when instruction starts.
7:45 a.m.
The tardy bell rings. Students must be in their classroom and in their seat when the bell rings.
Grab-and-Go Breakfast
Students arriving after 7:30 a.m. who would still like breakfast are welcome to receive a grab-and-go breakfast.
Grab-and-go breakfasts are intended to be eaten in the classroom after students arrive.
Because 7:30 a.m. is designated for cafeteria clean-up and 7:35 a.m. begins our campus-wide transition to classrooms, students who receive a grab-and-go breakfast will not remain in the cafeteria to eat. At 7:45, the cafeteria staff transitions to lunch preparation. The campus staff transition to support student learning throughout the building.
Our goal is to ensure that every student has access to breakfast while also protecting instructional time and creating a smooth, consistent morning routine for all students.
Tardy Policy
Students who are not in their classroom and seated by 7:45 a.m. will be marked tardy, even if they are elsewhere on campus.
If your student arrives after 7:45 a.m.:
- A parent or guardian must accompany the student into the front office to sign them in.
- Students will receive a tardy slip before reporting to class.
A Peaceful Morning Makes a Difference
One of our goals at Wooten is to give every child both an exceptional education and a joyful childhood.
A calm, welcoming start to the day helps students feel safe, connected, and ready to learn. We encourage families to make 7:00–7:30 a.m. their target arrival window whenever possible so students can enjoy breakfast, connect with friends, and ease into the school day without feeling rushed.
Come early. Eat together. Connect with friends. Be ready to learn.
